Meet the Team
We are a team of lifelong learners who seek new ways of working and prioritize collaboration with each other and our clients.
Most of us did not follow the traditional path to accounting, and we see that as an asset. Our lived experience, combined with our deep industry knowledge, allows us to serve our clients effectively and proactively.
Rubian Moss, CPA
Principal and Founder

Rubian started his own firm in 2000, after getting his start as a nonprofit auditor at Ernst and Young. He’s a graduate of Chico State University and a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs.
Rubian has over 20 years of experience in providing accounting and consulting services to nonprofits.
Rubian enjoys spending time with his family, solving mysteries and puzzles, playing disc golf, and reading.

Hannah joined the Moss CPA team in 2015. She has over 10 years of accounting experience and prides herself on assisting her clients to the fullest.
Hannah loves taking pictures, doing arts and crafts with her family, gardening, watching movies, and relaxing with her pets.

Maria Gonzalez-Flores

Maria joined Moss CPA in 2020 and has over 10 years of experience working in accounting. She has an associate’s degree in English Literature from Chabot Community College and is a certified paralegal.
She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in Accounting. When Maria is not working with numbers, she enjoys spending time cycling and reading.
Allen Shuler
Senior Accountant

Allen joined the Moss CPA team in 2021. He’s a graduate of the University of Alaska with a bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting.
He has over 15 years of accounting experience in various roles and prides himself on using his knowledge and experience to provide world class client support.
Allen enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, playing softball and disc golf, and going to his kids’ baseball and volleyball games.
Aimee Moss
Accounting Associate

Aimee joined the Moss CPA team in 2021. She’s a graduate of Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
With over 25 years of experience in the education and nonprofit worlds, she has developed a deep appreciation for collaborative, mission-driven work. Aimee embraces a lifelong learner mindset and is proud to support clients in achieving their professional goals.
Outside the office, she enjoys solving puzzles, traveling, tinkering in the garden, and baking treats to share with others.
Michele Callagher
Operations Manager

Michele joined the Moss CPA team in 2016. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from UC Santa Barbara and a Certificate in Professional Editing from UC Berkeley Extension.
She enjoys snuggling with her cats, reading, knitting, and practicing yoga.
Snowball the Budgie
Office Mascot
Snowball joined the Moss team in 2020. When she’s not snacking on millet, Snowball enjoys flying around the office and visiting our team members. She loves being in the middle of the action, and her cheerful chirps are a common addition to many an office conversation.
